It was now 5:30 and we decided it as time to get Gordon home. For the past two and a half hours we were playing my xbox 360. We had to figure a way to get him home without him freezing. Unfortunately his parents were out of town so we couldn't reach them. And my parents didn't have their cellphones on them.
"You can't walk home because it is too far and too cold and you didn't bring a bike." I said trying to think of a way.
"I can't take the bus because I will still have to walk afterwards." he stated.
"Maybe we can call someone," I suggested and then I snapped my fingers, "Nathan! Maybe his parents will drive you home."
"It's worth a shot." he replied. I grabbed the phone and called Nathan.
"Nathan? It's Will." I said to Nathan when he answered.
"What do you want?" he replied back.
"Are your parents home I need them to drive Gordon home. It is kind of an emergency."
"No they just left for some groceries. Sorry."
"OK then bye" He said his goodbyes and we hung up. "Damn it! They are not available." I said but then I heard the door unlock, my parents are home. "Gordon hide!" I ordered him and he went to the basement.
"We're home!" my mom said to me as she came through the door.
"I need you to do something for me," I began, "Gordon can't walk home and I was wondering if you could drive him home?"
"Why what's the matter?" she asked.
"Um, You remember the dragons you heard about on the news?" I asked her.
"Yes, why? Did he get attacked by one? I knew they were going to be a menace." she responded.
"What? No, but he kind of," I was slowly saying and then quickly said "turned into a dragon."
"Are you serious?" my mother asked, "Where is he?" I noticed how she did not say 'is he alright?' she said 'where is he?'
"He is in the basement; should I go get him?" I asked
"NO! I mean not yet... well, your father can take him! Just wait until I am upstairs." she said as she ran upstairs and closed the door to the bedroom.
"Why don't you go get him and I will bring him home. I sure he is devastated already, we don't have to make it worse." my dad told me.
"Gordon get up here it is time to go!" I said down the stairs.
"Coming!" his deep voice said. He came up the stairs and poked his head around the corner. I just watch my father, amazed and rubbing his eyes.
"Wow," My father exclaimed, "I never thought I'd see the day when I meet a dragon; not to mention have one in my house." Then Gordon came all the way and my dad was stunned.
"Dad, we still need to get Gordon home remember?" I told him.
"Right come on Gordon let's get you home." my father called out.
"All I want to do now is just crash on my bed." Gordon told us.
"And maybe gets some clothing." my dad suggested. I then realized I did not notice Gordon was not wearing any clothes. I then say Gordon notice he was exposed and if I could see the scales on his cheeks were becoming red.
After that we all got to my father's Envoy and we decided that Gordon could lie in the back when we put all the seats down. The ride to Gordon's house was uneventful, too uneventful. The entire ride was silent except for the sounds of the engine and the sounds outside. You could definitely tell there was an elephant in the room. We arrived at his house at 6:30 and he got out.
"Well that was the most interesting project I have ever done. See you tomorrow!" I said to him as he got out.
"See yeah Will!" he said as he opened the door with the key he seemed to have brought with him. After bumping his head on the door frame he headed in. We went home and the ride back was again silent. I had a lot of explaining to do.
